In addition, our Brockenstuben also offer clearance and disposal services, pick up furniture from your home and deliver furniture purchased in our Brockenstuben to your home. If you wish, they will even reassemble the furniture where you need it.

We are looking for

We are allowed to collect all humanitarian aid supplies, which we mediate to the Third World, free of charge from hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' and dentists' surgeries and pharmacies. In this way, all the items that have become obsolete in Switzerland are once again put to good use in areas of the world that are not as blessed with material goods as we are, through the mediation of our Medical Department.

Please call us if you have larger or smaller items to collect. We are happy about any personal contact with donors and recipients of goods.

We mediate

As explained above, we can only mediate things to your aid project in an emerging country or in the Third World, which we receive and are allowed to collect free of charge from our goods donors in Switzerland. However, large quantities of the following groups of goods are constantly stored in our medicine halls:

• Medical equipment & instruments
• hospital and practice equipment
• hydraulic hospital and nursing beds (mechanical and electrical)
• hospital linen
• work clothes
• dressing and incontinence material
• and much more

Clothes

The processing and procurement of clothes (usually work clothes for medical personnel) is a subdivision of our Medical Department. From hospitals and nursing homes we receive well-preserved aprons, surgical gowns, boots, etc. From fire departments often come their discarded protective clothing, coats, gloves, helmets and boots.

We also receive large quantities of surplus clothing and shoes from our second-hand shops, which we can pass on to humanitarian aid organizations.

Wheelchairs

We run a workshop where the wheelchairs are overhauled before we pass them on to humanitarian aid organizations. Our wheelchair mechanics are inventive when it comes to refurbishing defective wheelchairs so that they can continue to serve for a long time, even under difficult conditions.

Wheelchairs also include all other means of transport for disabled and elderly people, such as tricycles, walkers and rollators.

**Bicycles

We collect old bicycles, which we pass on, without processing them, to apprentice workshops in Eastern Europe. There they serve in many ways for the training of bicycle mechanics and a contribution to the apprenticeship training when they are sold.

HIOB International prefers to support projects that offer help for self-help.

Machines

We collect, overhaul and mediate machines and equipment from various fields of work, such as metal and wood processing, industrial catering, bakeries, shoemakers, commercial enterprises, offices, restaurants and hotels, etc.

Our trained mechanics are technical all-rounders and do their best to solve even the trickiest problems.

Deconstructions

Our team carries out professional dismantling and clearing of medical and dental practices, hospitals, nursing homes, commercial and industrial companies throughout Switzerland. The machines and equipment are then checked and overhauled in our workshops.
